Made from mirror polished stainless steel the Alessi 9090 espresso maker / cafetiere range is one of there most popular and timeless designs by Richard Sapper . This was the first coffee maker Alessi produced and also their first product release in the 1930s. It began the ethos of not only creating products that looked good in the kitchen but also on table tops too. This was the first product of its kind and created a huge market with which Alessi's rivals tried to imitate the coffee maker, this is still considered to be the original and the best on the market. The espresso maker gained Alessi its first prestigious Compasso Doro award in 1979 and the 9090 model has also been granted a permanent residence at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York.
