Shortlisted for the 2010 Elle Decoration Design Awards, London-based ceramicist Solomia's vessels use linear and geometric shapes to create something beautiful, functional and unique. Made by hand using mathematically precise templates and finished with gloss white glaze, the bowls feature a high contrast black glaze on the inside. The Solomia Constructivist bowls are designed to fit together, saving workspace and creating display options. This large bowl is part of the Palafitte collection designed by Marta Giardini for the historic Italian company DMK. The height given by the three legs and the slightly wonky style of the bowl give it immense character and is hand-turned in the highest quality porcelain and glazed in gloss black to get this affect.
